day Six provision

Interim placements in Alternative Provision, known as Day Six Provision, are designed for children and young people who have been recently excluded from their regular schools. The term originates from schools needing to offer education starting on the sixth day of a permanent exclusion, often using Alternative Provisions for this purpose.

Following the Day Six provision, efforts are made to secure a more lasting arrangement, whether it's another school or a more extended stay in an Alternative Provision setting or with a provider.

Day Six Provision at Launch2Learning offers a bespoke academic curriculum with social and emotional support, which aims to reengage learners with education and meet their needs, as well as helping them to prepare to go back to school or prepare them for adulthood.
