what we do

  • Our 12-week programme

Our students have 1:1 teaching and support in order to build their confidence and academic ability so that they can successfully move onto their next steps, whether that be school, college, apprenticeships, or other pathways. We see ourselves as an intervention, not a destination.

Our students have access to: a clear induction program; a 12-week plan with clear targets for re-integration; 1:1 lessons with our qualified teachers and mentors; support with health and well-being; and a clear transition program into a mainstream or specialist setting.

  • Teaching and Functional Skills

We can offer a place of respite for young people who are anxious and finding attendance and engagement difficult. L2L offers Maths and English as core subjects, alongside SWEET (Personal Development), and other academic subjects dependent on discussion and availability.

We provide qualified teachers and mentors who specialise in working with students with a range of academic and additional needs.

Our commissioners and parents have access to our information system which offers immediate access to current progress and attainment for their student.

  • Wellbeing

The well-being of our students is key. Many of our students have experienced trauma- large and small, which means that they are living every day in fight, flight and freeze. By building strong relationships, supporting our students with their well-being and preparing young people for their next steps, we believe our students will find a new confidence in themselves and their own ability, motivated for the future.

Key to this is our focus on contextual safeguarding and understanding the impact that trauma has on our young people.

What our parents have to say about us

“My child is happier, calmer and able to concentrate in a way he has never been able to before.”

“L2L was the best bit of Education he has received over the years: one-on-one, exactly what he needed and an environment that always welcomed him. All the staff were amazing with him and he enjoyed his time there very much”

“The key things that helped my child were tutors who understood his capabilities and adapted their approach and lesson structures to suit him. This bought out the best in him and allowed him to feel like he was achieving. The other key thing was the support for building his resilience when he really didn't want to be there. It showed him he could make the right decisions which at the same time, helped other people in his life.”
